Grasses
Ornamental grasses were probably the first plant that we really began to specialise in. Annette (AF Garden Solutions) built the first grasses bed, utilising rocks that had been dug up elsewhere and using a power washer on them to get them as white as possible. After a short time we soon exhausted the space allocated for the grasses and so we decided to double the size of the bed which was duly done by Malcolm & Kath (my brother and his wife).
We lost three grasses over the 2011/12 Winter and are not sure why – it may just be that as this was the first complete bed to be done we were too inexperienced to know exactly what we were buying and probably didn't really look at what was suitable for our soil.
